Native Of: Eastern New South Wales and Queensland
Native Habitat: Widespread in subtropical rainforest on the coast to the escarpment on ranges behind the coast, where there is free draining soil.
Form: Large upright canopy with bright green leaves. Trunk can get very large and swollen in mature specimens. Can grow to 35 metres.

Features: Loosing it’s leaves signals the onset of bright red flowers held in large panicles followed by very large dark brown seed pods.
